Armitage Weekly Round-Up Week 2

Armitage 2

Here’s another weekly round-up of Richard Armitage/Hobbit/OT posts that caught my eye this week.

Thank you for stopping by last week, you can check out Week 1 here.Arky weekly round-up week 2

Arkie has been keeping an eye out for fanfiction that may interest you, so check it out.

What a perfect way to brave the cold, snuggled up with a good fanfic read.

guylty round-up tumblr week2

Guylty wanders the wild with interesting posts that have appeared on Tumblr.

It’s a tough job but someone has to do it!

As always, if there are posts that you’d like to recommend or I have overlooked, please post them in comments either here or at the other two blogs.

Spread the love 1 Richard Armitage

We are still very much spReAding the love!

There’s £200 to snag for Richard’s JustGiving charities and you can make that happen by having your act of kindness noted by the end of February!

Perry digs up more on the subject here and there’s more here from RAC.

Golden oldiesBccMee will forever be the queen of Armitage collective challenges and her whole blog is post after post of delicious goodies.

She’d encourage readers to suggest photos, quotes and such, and she’d whip up the most amazing graphics and fanvids.

Check out the fun Summertime fun challenge where she has two RA characters battle it out in the strangest categories.

I honesty struggle to recommend the BEST BccMee post, you should just start from the oldest post and make your way from there.

BccMee also creates  beautiful videos, like the one for Richard’s 41st B-day:

See you next week 🙂

I’ve been Naughty this year (but Richard made me do it!)

If Santa asks whether I’ve been naughty or nice this year I need to lie through my teeth if I’m to get anything this Christmas.

If I was one of Santa’s reindeer I’d be Rude-olph!

I hope the jolly man will understand, especially that we’re kin of sorts, he is after all North Polish!

My line of defence is that most naughty coal-worthy behaviour has been inspired by my fangirling of Richard and he is more than welcome to submit any form of punishment he sees fit!

(see what I mean? one mention of the man and it’s just pure filth…)

Anyway, let’s celebrate the season of Ho! Ho! Ho! by a round of Nasty Santa, Armitage style:

Richard Armitage 2

I have a rubbish chute, will that do?

Richard Armitage 3

Be warned, I’m a loud carol singer… never mind…

Richard armitage 5

Yeah?

So what are you gonna do about that???

Richard Armitage Xmas1

That last one makes me feel like I’m between a rock and a hard place…

And, if anyone had ANY doubt…

Richard Armitage 4

He means his nose after a glass of sherry I hope.

Last but not least, for my friend Serv bravely battling the snow:

A Very Merry! Dear Armitage Friends 🙂

Have Yourself a Merry Dwarving Weekend!

Thorin Armitage mask

I thoroughly enjoyed the European premiere of The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug in Berlin.

Now I’m ready for Richard to take off his red carpet/promotional mask and done the Thorin one.

Entertain me Oakenshield!

As you read this I’ll already be in London, roaming museums, galleries and restaurants,  waiting to catch the movie on Friday afternoon, courtesy of a wonderful RA friend (thanks Guylty!).

Wherever you are, whenever you get to catch the next Hobbiting Adventure, I hope you have a wonderful time!

Whether you’ll be fangirling in your 3D glasses accompanied by fellow Armitage enthusiasts, or going it alone in quiet contemplation, remember:

 Have a BLAST!

Savour each moment!

Salivate/jump up and down in your seat/swoon/reach out and try to touch the majestic dwarf if you want to!

Then let’s meet back and fangirl and ooof! the heck out of this sucker 😉

Another Dwarven’ Fabulous Birthday!

I’m still here and very much alive.

Work has been very busy the past few weeks and I’ve spent every free moment trying to bring the RA Silent Auction together ready for Friday (yes THIS Friday…. may the freak out commence…).

There are a few things I’d like to share with you, but I figured I’ll write about the nicest one and the rest will keep till after the auction is done with.

By the way, if you’re interested in donating for the auction, please email me at rasilentauction [at] wp.pl

We have some amazing items donated, but I’m greedy and want more 🙂

Dwarf birthday puzzle

Back to the main issue, I’ve written a few times how my family and friends are supportive of my fangirling ways and even end up encouraging them.

I shared with you the amazing birthday cake Magzy designed for me, last year the postman brought me some pretty amazing postcards.

This year my birthday was just as dwavin’ amazing!

It seems that Magzy hit the craft box HARD and came up with  a one-of-a-kind birthday gift!

The adventure started at 8.30 am when I started my quest.

Instead of sweaty dwarves knocking on my door I was handed this lovely box:

SAM_0357

SAM_0359

When I opened it puzzle pieces came out:

SAM_0364

When I put the puzzles together I got this crossword puzzle:

puzzle template small

Unfortunately no clues were attached, so I knew my quest was far from  completed.

A few hours later we met up with my BFF who handed me another box:

SAM_0365

SAM_0366

Inside was another (bloody hard) puzzle to put together:

SAM_0368

I put my Thorin wig thinking cap on and got down to dwarven’ business.

The box consisted of a puzzle that gave me the clues to my previous puzzle:

3

See if you can slay Smaug and guess what the proverbial pot at the end of my birthday rainbow consists of!

The gift is absolutely amazing and a huge THANK YOU to Magzy and her magic fingers (not to mention the rest of her…) for getting crafty and making my B-Day ace!

And I’m not sorry, Fangirling is Human Nature…

I’ve been busy with the RA Silent Auction business and it will likely continue till the auction post is out on Friday, the 28th of November.

A quick reminder, if you’d like to donate an item please email me at RASilentAuction [at] wp.pl.

The deadline for photographs of the item (maximum 3 per item) as well as the description is the 26th of November.

Let me just say that it’s shaping up to be AWESOME!

The pic above shows how a slashy fanart image was used by accident in China to promote Thor 2.

Or was it an accident…. hmmm….

On Friday I took part in a Thor marathon.

The triple feature included Thor, The Avengers and Thor 2.

I’m not the biggest Marvel fan, but I sure do like sexy men running around in super hero costumes, although I question where all the kick-ass women are (I have a Scarlet Johansson allergy, so she doesn’t count…).

Anyway, this wasn’t the first movie marathon I’ve attended, but it most certainly had the lowest average age.

There was a sea of teenagers (and I do mean early teens) which surprised me seeing that the last movie finished at 3.30am.

I was relieved to see a bunch of parents waiting in the cinema lobby to ferry their offspring back home and could imagine my poor dad sitting there at all hours of the morning waiting for me to get my fangirl on.

fangirl face

And by fangirling (or fanboying, as the case may be), I really do mean FANGIRLING!

It was actually adorable to watch then squeee every time Loki/ Tom Hiddleston appeared on screen.

After each movie they’d meet up in the ladies loo to continue discussing how unbelievably hot and adorable that Loki is.

Oh, Loki!

My BFF and I are easily aggravated (cos we’re cool like that!) and we were cracking jokes until I realised that I may have much more in common with these high-pitched braces-wearing loonies than meets the eye.

tumblr_inline_mkykvo8etx1qz4rgp

I have seen The Hobbit: DOS trailer twice in the cinema and both times I was:

– punching the air

– jumping up and down in my seat

– nudging my companions when they clearly seemed to be covering their face with their hands

– panting, salivating, squeezing, huffing and puffing, ready to blow that whole cinema down

And that’s just the trailer, mind…

i-am-a-fangirl-and-i-cannot-keep-calm-23

The truth is, some of us will  never grow up, hopefully we never grow old.

Expressing enthusiasm (even if it’s in a public place) is one of the fun things about being a fan.

Running around London and emitting rainbows because you’ve spotted a location where Spooks was shot, getting an issue of Empire Magazine in the post with Thorin growling on the cover (thanks Guylty!!!), holding on to that plastic soft drink cup just because it has The Hobbit written on it…

It’s all part of the fan experience.

I don’t suffer in silence, I certainly won’t explode with glee in silence either.

And I for one intend to continue to embarrass and bug the daylight out of everyone who is stupid enough to go with me to a place that may activate my fangirling 🙂

So, what’s your most vivid fangirling experience?

What to expect when you’re expecting (The Hobbit Fan Event on Monday)

1395186_585790668123209_1446338395_n

The Nov 4th Fan Event for The Hobbit is upon us and at this point all we can do is speculate what treats are in store for us.

As I was going down my Twitter feed it was wonderful to see so many of my RA friends score tickets to see the cast in either NY or London.

Magzy asked me whether I was jealous and I truthfully answered that yes, but not in the obvious way.

It would be much worse if Richard was in London as it’d be extremely difficult but doable to try to make it work.

As RA is in NY, beside logistic issues (like a 10 hour flight), the US isn’t getting a tourist penny from me until they get rid of tourist visas (seeing that we ARE citizens of the EU).

Therefore, there wasn’t any way in hell to bend reality to fit with my fangirl desires.

Zdjęcie: The new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be unveiled tomorrow (Tuesday, October 1st) at 6am PT / 9am ET!Share if you're counting down!

I have to admit that reading fan encounters always delight me and I hope our fellow admirers show us with insider info.

I’m always proud of the conduct of our fandom members on RA impact, despite probably being on the verge of exploding, they usually manage a calm cool exterior and represent us well.

It’s also easier for me to live vicariously through another fan, I can just imagine myself in this situation, I giggle (and sometime squirm) reading the details and I get a rush that is probably almost as intense as the lucky fan felt on meeting Richard… almost…

The event will take place at 11pm on Monday AT (meaning Agzy time), so could be worse.

I’ll be bundled up in bed with my laptop, refreshing the page every few seconds, trying not to think about having to get up the next day at 6am.

I’ll give watching everything go down in real time a go, although it felt odd during 2012 SD: Comic-Con and I quickly abandoned trying to keep up.

RA tablet

What can we expect?

Difficult to guess.

My bet is that because there are four host cities, we aren’t going to see that much of Richard, especially that he’ll be joined by a teenage girl Orlando Bloom and much of the attention will be focused on Legolas (the name comes from the Scottish ‘lass’ and Lego because he delivers his lines like he was made of plastic… OK, not really…).

The event poster claims there will be live Q&A and exclusive footage shown, but I’ll be the judge of how exclusive that footage feels 😉

The event is dubbed a FAN event, so I hope we’ll be able to satisfy our FAN appetites!

What would you like to see on Monday?

Are there any questions you’d like Richard to be asked?

You’re in my Heart just like a Tattoo

I think I can be described as a pretty hardcore fangirl.

No, I don’t own celebrity toenails turned into earrings, I don’t even collect autographs, but I can see how spending hours ogling pictures of hot British men, or creating posts for my own amusement, as well as for a limited group of like-minded people, could read as a bit craycray to the outside world.

Richard Armitage tattoo 2

I do, however, like to think that there’s a certain method to my fangirling madness and I have long established certain boundaries that I can’t see myself crossing.

Oddly enough the same rules apply to my lovelife…

Cue the celebrity faces tattoos:

I have a tattoo.

I got a rather unimaginative tramp stamp that looks a bit like pea pods, done using the same methods as permanent make-up, which was supposed to come off in a year or two.

Twelve years later it’s going as strong as ever.

Then there’s that hole in my right nostril left over from my nose ring which, 14 years later, looks like a giant black head.

I use my own foolish decisions from a misguided youth to illustrate that some things are forever or at least are harder to get rid of than me at a sweet’s buffet.

The next time you start thinking that maybe a nice doodle of Richard Armitage tattooed close to your heart is a swell idea, I’d urge you to put the half-empty bottle of vodka down, take a deep breath and give yourself a nice big slap.

Go on, you probably won’t remember it the next day anyway, and you’ll save yourself the trouble of having to explain why you have “So, where do you want me to sleep then” etched across one buttock, and “Well, there you go” on the other.

amritage army general lucas

That Richard Armitage tattoo you so lovingly applied to your arse in your 20’s is going to end up looking like Stephen Fry a few decades later (for the record, I love Stephen Fry, I’m just illustrating a point).

Before I’m accused of being an ink hater let me stress that I hold good tattoo artists in high regard, and some tattoos really are works of art.

The human body can serve as a wonderful canvas to etch images that have meaning onto, and real tattoo lovers map out a plan to cover their bodies that I find fascinating.

No tattoo hating here!

This is an amazing example of a beautifully shaded image of Thorin:

Getting a tattoo of Richard’s face is one way to get women to want to see you naked 😉

I think there’s also a difference in getting a tat with a celebrity’s face as opposed to a fictional character.

OK, I’ve done my bit to raise awareness and now I’m of  to get some subdermal implants…

I’m holding out for my Hero

Thorin Misty Mountain 1

I have a little confession to make:

I still don’t own a copy of The Hobbit.

Nope, not even a naughty copy tucked away somewhere on my laptop to tie me over.

When the DVD came out in March I had already decided that I’d wait till someone bought it for my birthday in November the fancier one with all the extra footage and whatnot was out.

I’m not sure if it’s a smart move, I’ll probably watch the special features once, if that, and I’m hardly a hardcore Tolkien or movie buff to appreciate the goodies Sir PJ throws our way.

Then again, I may be rewarded for my patience by hours of extra Richard/Thorin footage to last me a lifetime.

Yeah, I’m not holding my breath either…

Armitage Dragon fire

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we got to see Richard’s transformation from the moment he arrives at the costume department (or even sooner, like getting out of bed), to the time he’s ready to start shooting (again, or further, when he’s getting back into bed).

As my extreme Armitage fangirling wishes rarely come true (not one RA-inspired symphony has been written to date!), I think we’ll probably end up pressing the pause button to capture those few  glimpses of Richard, and he’ll probably have his back to the camera in most of those.

I was wondering what your tactic was with regards to The Hobbit DVD.

King Richard Vegas Competition Day 5

Congrats to the winner of Day 4 of the King Richard Competition.

I shall be getting in touch with you shortly 🙂

RA day4

Just wanted to take a moment to express how much I’m enjoying reading all your comments 🙂

I don’t respond to competition comments because I don’t want to be accused of favouritism, but you’re all making me giggle.

King Richard 2013

This is Day FIVE of the King Richard Vegas Competition!

Up for grabs today is:

RA5.1

A Richard pendant you can keep close to your heart.

This could be handy as the real one seems to be elusive and reluctant to go anywhere near our hearts, or any other part of our anatomy!

And I don’t mean in the metaphorical sense- he’s always lodged there 😉

RA5.2

Here’s the thing:

The news that Richard may be in London got me breaking into song!

Forget Fergie Ferg, it’s Agzy Agz!

He just really makes “My London Bridge wanna go down!” (whatever the heck that means…).

The question is:

Which line of a song best describes how Richard makes you feel?

I’ll just leave this right here for inspiration…

Richard Armitage Ben Rayner shoot

Comments will close at 12 GMT tomorrow when I will announce the winner and Day 6 competition will be out!

Good Luck!

Day 5 winner

King Richard Vegas Competition Day 4

Things are going from bad to worse with the prizes and on top of that my toner is dead as a dodo or as Richard’s chances of playing Batman.

I may have to rethink some prize ideas but, as always, I’ll just wait till the very last moment to make the decision.

Nothing like procrastination to get the blood pumping!

I really can’t wait to share the pieces of jewellery that has gone Oh so very wrong! with you.

It is really a sight to see!

I think I should hang on to them and hand them out as gifts on Halloween because it really is the Night of the Living Dead in handmade stuff 😉

King Richard week 6

Welcome to King Richard Week Vegas Competition Day 4

I can’t believe we’re half way there!

Congrats to all the winners so far and I hope the rest of you “beat the odds, against the odds”.

I have drawn the name of the winner of Day 3.

I will be contacting you shortly.

Day 3 winner

To read about the rules of the KRA Week Competition, please go HERE.

Up for grabs today is…

SAM_0263

An RA brooch

Lemon used to stabilise the brooch while it dries not included, but severely limits photo options 😉

RA4

Here’s the thing:

We all know that Richard likes to supplement his income with the odd  voiceover in ads.

Don’t get me wrong, anything that features RA’s velvety voice (actually, anything at all!) get’s the seal of approval from my ears… and other parts of me.

The question for today is:

The advertisement for which product should feature a Richard Armitage voiceover?

What product would benefit from Richard’s voice?

I’ve always dreamt of celebs providing the voice for the GPS navigation in the car.

Can you imagine Richard whispering: “Take the next left”.

I’d end up just driving around in circles all day, taking wrong turns just so Richard scorns me!

Comments close tomorrow at 12 GMT.
