No Mercy Michaels!

I have just completed 6 days of Jillian Michaels Body Revolution.

Tomorrow marks my “Sunday”, meaning my day of rest.

I’m feeling really good, so I’m thinking on doing something tomorrow, like Jillian’s Kickbox Cardio.

This may very well be the absolute worst idea I have ever had…

I have done all of the workouts twice.

I really enjoy workout 1, minus the push ups, but it’s better than it was (I’m beating my personal record of 3).

I like workout 2 even more.

Cardio 1– not so much.

I mentioned the limitations with this one: jumping on a hard wood floor and Jillian really kicking your butt. I am modifying some of the moves (please, don’t tell JM) so I’m still jumping up and down, but not pounding on the floor hard.

Any chance cardio 2 will be better?

Don’t think so…

Anyway, I have another week of the same routine, then I will move on to workout 3 and 4.

I’m not following the food plan.

First of all, I don’t eat meat whereas Jillian stated you can eat food “that has a mother or grows in the ground”.

Secondly, the food plan is prepared for the American market and many of the products aren’t available in Europe.

I try to stick to a sensible diet, as I have for the past 3 months.

I will continue to keep you posted 🙂

    • Thanks Gracie, I really do recommend it. JM kicks your butt like there’s no tomorrow (and it feels that way at times…) but it really is worth it. Don’t know about you, but a huge chunk of my self-esteem is tied to my body and, I can’t lie, getting up early every morning and doing the exercises makes me feel freakin’ great 😉
Oh, and getting complements on how you look in your new jeans isn’t shabby either!
      Man, I just realised I’m really shallow… 😉

  3. I just started a new routine for April to try to get over the plateau I’ve been on. I’m alternating Jackie Warner’s ’30 Day Fast Start’ which is weight lifting with pyramid repetitions and Jillian’s ‘Banish Fat Boost Metabolism’ which is 45 minutes of weight-free cardio. Both workouts are kicking my booty to the point of near collapse. I both love and hate these workouts. 🙂

I’m also reducing the calories for the first two weeks of the month to 950 ish per day. I’m starving! 🙂 I can only hope that means I’m burning 1/2 a pound of fat at least each day. Everytime I feel hungy I tell my tummy to ‘stop grumbling and go eat some fat’ haha. After the two weeks I can go back up to 1200 calories a day.

You’re not shallow. It really does make you feel better when you strengthen your muscles and drop fat. You are changing your body chemistry and DNA and will live a longer, healthier life. But yes, it is nice to hear that your booty is looking hotter in that smaller pair of jeans. 😉

Keep up the good work! And let me know if you need cyber support on your efforts. 🙂

    • I think Jillian is meant to be both loved and hated. I find myself dissapointed when I’m not sore in the morning! I haven’t tried the Boost, but it’s lined up with the other DVD’s, waiting to make me Oh so unhappy but looking good in jeans 😉
Good Luck! We’ll be Pin Up’s in no time!

  4. I have some questions for you. I’ve been checking out various chat sites about Body Revolution, and despite being asked five million times, none of the people doing the workout are being very helpful about what the plan actually entails. So I’m hoping you can help me. Do you have to do two workouts a day, or is that just for the 7 day jump start? Does she tell you explicitly which workout videos to do each day if you only want to do one? I may want to try it in May when I’m ready for a shake up to my current, still fairly new, plan but I don’t want to do two workouts a day. I’ve tried that, it didn’t work with my daily schedule.

How did you purchase? Online? Did they try to force the vitamins on you? I’ve seen a lot of complaints about that. Honestly, I’m hoping the videos will find their way to a store without all the “bonus” materials, for a cheaper price. I hate when weightloss plans come with strict meal plans that you’ve got to make major modifications to because you don’t eat certain foods or don’t cook. And I don’t need journals and resistance bands, etc.

The workouts look like a lot of fun, but infomercials are often deceiving, so I’d love to hear you expand upon your experiences. 🙂
    Thanks

    • I’ll try 😉
There are 3 phases, each consisting of 4 workouts and a cardio.
The first 2 weeks (Phase One) consists of a plan of: W1, W2, C1, W1, W2, C1 and a free day. You follow the same pattern the following week.
      Then you go onto W3, W4, C1, W3, W4, C1, free day.
Then you move onto Phase Two.
JM suggests that you can do a workout and cardio a day for the first week, but it’s just a suggestion. If I’m honest, I don’t love the cardio enough to want to do it more ofter than every 3 days.
I was given the DVD’s and didn’t get any extra books, vitamins etc. Just the goodness of the exercises. I’ve looked through the food plan, but it’s clearly organised for the American market, so I gave it a pass. Anyway, I don’t eat meat and JM ‘t really take vegetarians into account. I’m following Gillian McKeith’s food plan and I’m happy with it.
I really like the exercises and they really kick my butt, however I’m not sure I would pay so much for the set. I have 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30 Days, they cost a lot less and really torture you in the best way possible. From the get go they are more challenging that W1 and W2.
Perhaps it would be better to give those a try and wait another month or two, when people start selling the set on eb*y at a more reasonable price.
I wish everyone all the best, but people flaking out is how I got lucky 😉
      I hope this helps 😉

      • Yes this helps alot. It’s also nice to hear what you say about 30 Day Shred. I can get that on Amazon Streaming for $4.99 Much cheaper than the $130 ish the Body Revolution costs right now.

I think what I like about the Body Revolution is the variety you’d be getting, and the hot men to look at. You don’t often get the hot men in Jillian’s videos 😉

Thanks for the info. I think I’ll wait for a set to pop up somewhere else cheaper.

        • If I could suggest something- get Ripped and Shed and alternate, so you don’t get bored. If you throw in some other JM DVD’s like Killer Buns & Thighs, you’ll still get the results. I’ve noticed all of her DVD’s kick butt, it’s just that Body Revolution has an informercial, which brings the price up so badly 😉
          Good Luck!!!
