Marilyn Monroe and plastic surgery

I want to grow old without facelifts… I want to have the courage to be loyal to the face I’ve made. Sometimes I think it would be easier to avoid old age, to die young, but then you’d never complete your life, would you? You’d never wholly know you.- Marilyn Monroe

For the record I would like to say it makes little difference to me if Marilyn Monroe did have surgery or not. That animal magnetism she exuded is something you are born with, it cannot be man-made.

If Marilyn did have surgery, it would have to have been in the 1940s and early 1950s. The procedures were still relatively new and quite dangerous.  She would have been a young starlet, desperately trying to break through and catch Hollywood’s eye.

If you look at the pictures of a young Marilyn, she seems to have a broader nose and a more rounded chin. Her rhinoplasty allegedly took place in 1946, on signing her contract with Twentieth Century-Fox Studios. This coincided with the name change and dying her hair blonde.

Some specialists have stated Marilyn also had an early form of chin implant.

I hope you remember FanstRAvaganza 3 is right around the corner!

For those who have been living on the moon, you can learn more HERE.

I’m doing a bit of this in preparation myself. I think my fellow bloggers will agree that preparing posts for the event is quite daunting but really exciting. We definitely want to put our best foot forward and make sure we celebrate FanstRA 3 the best way possible.

After all that’s what it’s all about: US (bloggers and readers alike) having FUN!

I really can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with 🙂

I’m sure my fellow bloggers are feeling a bit like this…
