They say: “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”.
It’s one thing to do a homage to Marilyn.
It’s another to lose your own personality and take over someones image (I’m looking at you Lindsay Lohan…)
I have been thinking about authors and books I had encountared thanks to films.
In “Sylvia” Gwenyth Paltrow played the role of Sylvia Plath, American writer and poet, part of the Confessional Poet group.
The film presents the author whose anguished marriage to British poet Ted Hughes and battle with depression led to a legendary suicide.
By the way, I think RA could have played the part of Ted Hughes exceptionally well.
Richard Armitage read from the letters of the poet Ted Hughes in BBC Radio 4’s Afternoon Play on 29th October 2007.
Breathtaking and haunting!
